Under New Management

After 12 years and 17 wonderful StuVac Seminars, Jenny and Morris decided that it was time to sit back and let someone else do the organising! So in October 2020 they sold their business to Anthea and Steve Stahl. With exceptionally large shoes to fill, it was with some trepidation that Anthea and Steve took over the reins for the StuVac family.

Anthea and Steve are both physiotherapists, each with over 25 years of clinical experience. Anthea works with Barwon Health in community rehabilitation, primarily with a musculoskeletal caseload. Steve has been working in private practice since 2001 and as a practice owner since 2005. Steve completed his Masters of Sports Physio in 2012.

Anthea and Steve live on a few acres near Torquay, on Victoria’s Surf Coast. They are keen gardeners, and share their property with some chickens, a number of kangaroos, blue tongue lizards, an echidna, loads of birds and the odd snake.

Who are we?

For the past 25 years, aside from a fulfilling career helping people, work has funded our main vice- travel! Completing the usual “rite of passage” of many young Australians, we first travelled overseas together for 12 months in 1997-98, backpacking through Europe, working in the UK, and overlanding through Africa. In true backpacking style, we stayed in hostels, ate baguettes with vegemite for lunch and generally tried to get by on £50 a day! However, we enjoyed the experience so much, that we set off to repeat the experience in 2000-01, having another 12 months away! This time starting in the middle east, then working in the UK, travelling through Scandinavia and Eastern Europe and once again home to Australia via Africa.

In 2009 we embarked on our very first StuVac Seminar! And so began our friendship with Jenny and Morris. We can recall the wonder, joy and spine-tingling excitement of sailing amongst pack ice, giant icebergs and snow-capped mountain peaks in Scoresbysund, Greenland. Another ‘once in a lifetime’ moment that is synonymous with StuVac Seminars. These types of memories, along with world class education and a fantastic bunch of people are what has made StuVac Seminars so special. We have since completed five StuVac adventures, all of them spectacular in their own way.

We know we have very large shoes to fill and we will be striving to continue the very high standards that Jenny and Morris have set. With the COVID pandemic, it is a very challenging time to have taken over a travel-related business! We had two fantastic international adventures planned for 2021, however we will shelve those for now and look to plan some domestic adventures instead, provided the rest of the country allows us Victorians to travel!
